Contract SQL Server DBA Opportunity
3 – 6 Months
Must be willing to travel to and work in Oklahoma City
Responsibilities
*Managing and maintaining various, complex production and non-production databases.
* Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
* Optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
* Installing, upgrading, refreshing and maintaining all database environments.
* Responsible for the day to day database administrative tasks, such as: proactive monitoring, error checking, performance tuning, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery.
* Collaborating with project teams to set up database, DB interface, and production set-up and configuration.
* Managing user security and access to databases to provide controlled access environment.
* Investigating, reviewing, applying and testing all patches and bug fixes in the database environment and providing consultation on patch management, custom interface design and operational implementation.
* Interacting with developers and programmers in order to design/review programs, custom interfaces and queries according to standards.
* Utilizing data management tools such as SSIS, SSAS, DTS, and SSRS
* Will be required to be on an on-call rotation
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree preferred.
* 5 to 7+ years’ experience of Database Administration, Database Design, Performance Analysis, and Production Support
* Preferred industry related certifications
* Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 or greater, 2005+ preferred
* Expert knowledge in installation, backup, and restoring of SQL databases
* Strong database administration skills with an emphasis on enterprise scale architecture
* Expert knowledge of database security methodologies. Including SQL security, mixed security, server roles, and database roles
* Strong knowledge of Data Management Tools SSIS, SSAS, DTS, and SSRS
* Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures
* Strong knowledge of clustering and replication
* Strong knowledge of import, export, and bulk copy processes
* Ability to use Microsoft tools to troubleshoot performance related issues
Performance Monitor
Profiler
Query execution plans
* Ability to use Microsoft tools to troubleshoot logic, syntax, deadlock issues
* Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003 or greater

Primarily responsible for providing pre-sales technical and other consulting services to clients.
· Support sales team on proposal and solutions to customers.
· Meet customers to understand user requirements, perform customer education and create solutions.
· Prepare solution proposals.
· Generate / verify Bill of Materials for quotations.
· Assist sales in gathering 3rd party pricing and liaising with 3rd parties, if required.
· Customer facing presentations and clarifications.
· Support sales in tendering and bidding process.
Requirements:
· Technical knowledge in the prevention of security breaches within an organization's infrastructure. This includes outbound and inbound breaches, such as accessing confidential information and sending out and accessing from outside.
· Experience in recreating breaches for analysis and future prevention.
· Ability to solution architect Network Security solutions.
· Experience with RSA/EMC suite of products preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal, presentation and conversational skills; positive in learning
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\'s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
· At least 3 year(s) of working experience in Pre-Sales for system solution.
Pre-sales architects may also be asked to attend training or perform self-study programs to pass manufacture or vendor specific certification exams that help organization meet requirements.

· Final responsibility for technical solution provided to clients.
· Responsible for providing quality internal support as required.
· Responsible for adhering to project methodologies when working assigned projects.
· Assisting with all pre-sales activities on assigned accounts.
· Responsible for admin responsibilities, including time and expense entry on weekly basis.
· Must hold industry related certifications TBD by management.
· Knowledge of Hitachi, EMC or IBM Storage very desirable.
Travel: Some travel may be required, up to 25% on annual basis.

Required Skills

· UNIX (Solaris) and/or Red Hat Linux
· SQL scripting
· Solid knowledge of Database administration - exposure to Oracle is a plus
· Shell scripting and demonstrable experience automating complex tasks
· JEE Application server design, administration and configuration – WebLogic, GlassFish, etc
· Web server administration and configuration
· LDAP
· Hands on experience with Virtualization technologies – XEN, VMware, Solaris Containers, etc

Our client specializes in easy to create 3D models that interact with a SQL database backend and perform a number of engineering calculations. Their software covers a broad spectrum of technologies where a high level of quality is imperative.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining product test plans and testing strategies. This position is also responsible for testing our products using an existing suite of 2500+ automated and manual tests, and ensuring tests are up to date with product changes.
Work is conducted primarily during daytime hours (8-5 CST).
Skills/Qualifications:
· Become proficient in product usage enough to be able to pass base and intermediate training class tests within 2 months.
· Within 2 months be able to run and update automated tests in our existing suite of automated tests using HP’s Functional Test / Quick Test Professional (QTP)
· Manage 1 – 2 software engineering interns and effectively utilize them to test products
· Have a formal testing process documented within 4 months
· Must be very proficient in using automated functional testing software.
· Knowledge in VBScript and HP’s Functional Test (formerly QTP) a plus

SCOPE

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

SCOPE
The Programmer/Analyst II is competent to work at the highest level of technical complexity under broad direction on projects and/or programs. The Programmer/Analyst II is accountable for designing, coding, testing, documenting and implementing computer programs for new or existing applications.ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develops detailed program specifications including design of online screen and/or reports by working with project management and/or end users and receiving instruction and direction.Converts project specifications into sequential, detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into computer processing language by creating flowcharts and/or pseduo-code where applicable.Considers all aspects of project such as hardware design, hardware limitations, operating time, format of desired results and any other system constraints by working with project management.Eliminates errors before moving project to Quality Assurance by testing and debugging programs.Maintains and enhances existing application programs by continually improving understanding of user’s needs and how the system can better support the user.Formulates project plan by working with project management and outlining steps required to develop project and submits project plan to project management for approval.Understands current operating procedures by consulting with users and reviewing project objectives.Completes project assignments in a timely manner by receiving directions and project assignment priority from Project Leader/Manager.Ensures a timely progression of project completion by coordinating testing activities, including test data and results, with Quality Assurance.Develops programs that run efficiently and adhere to client standards by minimizing excess overhead in applications and re-using code and coding techniques.Ensures long term maintainability of the system by documenting project according to client guidelines.Provides resolutions to problems by taking the initiative to use all resources available for research.Provides programmer support on a 24-hour basis by participating in the Programmer of the Week (POW) rotation.Participates in the development of new Programmer/Analysts I by providing guidance and training as needed.Serves as lead programmer by overseeing assigned project.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science preferred; four to seven years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of COBOL, CICS, z/OS, JCL, and/or C and AIX, and/or Java/Websphere/ Java Swing.• Possesses keyboard proficiency.• Ability to type 40 words per minute.• Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills.• Possesses strong attention to detail skills.• Possesses strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.• Ability to analyze the impact of decisions before execution.• Possesses interpersonal skills.

Direct-hire Network Analyst II Opportunity with Great Company in Fort Worth, TX
DescriptionThe Network Analyst II is accountable for designing, installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining all Network infrastructure including related hardware equipment and software to ensure optimal operation of all Networks including Local Area Networks, Storage Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. The Network Analyst II handles assignments of a more complex nature with limited direction/guidance.Ensures optimal performance of all Networks by proactively conducting ongoing performance monitoring and by tuning/adjusting as necessary.Provides effective Level II help desk support on a 24/7 basis by researching/analyzing issues/requests to determine Network related implications, effectively communicating with all impacted parties and by troubleshooting and resolving issues with a sense of urgency to minimize any system downtime. Ensures optimal Network design and set-up by conducting effective new hardware/software installations, hardware/software replacements/upgrades and by performing reconfigurations as needed. Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ensures Network security integrity by correctly configuring and maintaining Network hardware/software and by monitoring and maintaining security systems (e.g. intrusion detection system, firewalls, etc.).EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEA Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred plus three to five years of Network related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS• Extensive knowledge of network hubs, routers, switches, network infrastructure design, protocol and network analyzers, wiring standards, and the TCP/IP protocol.
• The position requires a mature and responsible individual with strong initiative, analytical skills and judgment to independently handle assignments.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and Pix / ASA firewalls, VPN and VOIP. Cisco Nexus administration required.
• Working knowledge of WANs (T1's, T3's, MPLS and point-to-point)
• Strong routing skills especially competent on EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Design Associate certification (CCDA) preferred. ITIL practice or certification(s) heavily preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows Servers.
• Familiarity with setting up network printers and printing.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Strong attention to detail skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
• Good verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively document procedures.
• Must be able to work weekends and after business hours as required.
• Possess accurate keyboarding proficiency.
• Must be self-motivated to learn all aspects of networking.
• Energetic and eager to learn.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:• Ability to sit at a desk for an extended period of time.
• Ability to look at and work on CRT for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift and carry computer equipment (up to 75lbs)
• Must be able to work in a low temperature climate controlled computer room.
• Must be able to travel to metro and outlying locations, as required.
